FINAL DAY AT AKUMAL COMEDY FESTIVAL


      LAST DAY OF THE AKUMAL COMEDY FESTIVAL ~  7PM  SHOW AT TURTLE BAY CAFE

The show at Turtle Bay was performed with Spanish speaking comedian and local performances.

Jarana Dancers
The jarana is the typical dance of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The local ladies performed the dance during the Spanish section of the show.

This festival to celebrate the unity of life and death, is considered by many to be the most important holiday of the year in Mexico and other Latin American countries.


The festival that became the modern Day of the Dead fell in the ninth month of the Aztec calendar, about the beginning of August, and was celebrated for an entire month. The festivities were dedicated to the goddess known as the "Lady of the Dead", corresponding to the modern Catrina.

Rojo Perez performed for the local audience in Spanish.  A young boy was captivated with his performance.


At the 10pm show Paul Hooper performed at La Buena Vida, and had the crowd in hysterics. 


Special guest comedian Chad Daniels gave a surprise performance
Kjell Bjogen performed and pointed out his round tummy to the audience
